Pre–Load Tail Gripper Setting

General

The following procedure is used to set the drum encoder and the location of the Tail grippers at the end of the slot. This will enable bringing the drum under the actuator pins when performing pre - load.

Procedure

  1. Open the rear cover of the Lotem
  2. Slide tail grippers all the way down the slot until they are at the end opposite the head grippers.
  3. Open from the H/W menu the drum system / drum motor, double click on the drum motor.
  4. Place the tail grippers under the Unloading upper grippers actuators pins. Make sure that the drum power is turned off.
  5. Hold the drum in position, slowly activate the upper grippers actuators valve from the Manifold.
  6. Rotate the drum gently until the activator pins are in the middle of the tail gripper groove. At that point record the reading of the drum current position. (It should be around "204")
  7. Recording the final value to the registry – Go to the Lotem registry /…./Lotem 800 V/ I/O objects / Loading System/ Drum. From the Drum list on the right side ,double click on the " Init tail Gripper Pos". Change the current parameter with the new one .

Testing

  1. Load plate when the rear cover is open. This will rotate the drum and bring the tail grippers to the position loaded for the new plate size.
  2. During the pre – load process check that the actuators pins are in the middle of the tail grippers groove.
  3. Check that the tail grippers garb the edge of the plate between 2.5 mm to 4 mm.
