Replacing Focus Coupling in the Field

  1. Disconnect the focus motor cables.
  2. Disconnect the focus motor.
  3. In order to replace the old coupling of the focus motor with the new coupling, you need to disassemble the HP fine sensor.
  4. You need to open 3 screws to slide the screw to remove the coupling.  See arrow A.
  5. Make sure when placing the new coupling that the notch is on the side of the screw. See arrow B.
Note: The notch (slot) is designed for better attachment of the coupling to the both axes.
  6. Close the screws of the coupling tightly.
  7. Reconnect the focus motor with the cables to the optics head.
  8. Adjust the Focus pre-load to range between 200 and 400. Use the focus Jig.
  9. Go over the focus adjustment procedure (see the installation guide).
  10. If the customer is using only one thickness, we strongly recommend disabling the focus motor.
