Punch direction inverter cable (part number 504L3E525) for Local3 platesetters only

The punch direction inverter cable (part number 504L3E525) is only for Local3 platesetters. The cable prevents having to disassemble punches when the plate is jammed in the punch. This can happen due to plates double loading.
The punch rod may not release itself from the plates and an error message: "Punch motor didn't end ……" or "Plate stuck in punch.." will appear.
Up until now, the only way to release the jammed plate(s) was to disassemble the punch from the IU, with the jammed plates in place.
To prevent having to disassemble the punch, an adaptor cable has been designed. When the cable is connected, the rotational direction of the punch motor is reversed. This elevates the punch pin from the plates allowing them to be cleared.

Plate release procedure

  1. Release the loading cassette.
  2. Open the front door.
  3. Disconnect the cable from the stuck punch motor and connect the new adapter cable to it (see picture).
  4. Insert a cassette interlock cheater.
  5. Open the stuck punch dialog in Lotem Controller.
  6. Ask the Lotem operator or another person to activate the stuck punch motor in Lotem Controller. At the same time, pull the jammed plate from the punch. If the plates are still jammed in the punch, disconnect the adapter cable and reconnect the original one. Operate the jammed punch motor again and try to pull the plate out.
  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until plate is released.
  8. Remove the punch direction inverter cable when finished and make sure the original cable is connected.
  9. Remove the cheater.
  10. Insert the cassette and close the front door.
