Version 2.10.06 - Drum Init Not Working

William Shany
March 11, 1999

Problem

When upgrading to Version 2.006 the drum init does not work.

It is very important to check the status of the following detectors, since the S/W 2.10.06 checks the detectors during the operation of the machine.   The old S/W (2.003) didn't check the status of the roller's HP detector and the HP of the grippers.  Malfunction of the following detector may cause problems with the drum when upgrading the S/W to 2.10.06.

Normally you can see the problem by opening the Task-list on the application where you will find one of the Roller/gripper values on hold.

Solution

If you are having the above problem when implementing the S/W upgrade follow the next steps and make the necessary adjustments or change the active state accordingly.

Go the H/W / Drum System/ and check the following objects:

(If you can't find the object, the reason may be that it is closed. Please open it.

  1. Load Roller , open the "Load Rollers HP" and the "Load Rollers valve activation".  Check that when the Roller is in HP the status of the detector is On.  Activate the valve of the roller and check that the HP detector changes to OFF.
  2. Unload Rollers, open the "Unload Rollers HP" and the "Load Rollers valve activation".  Check that when the Roller is in HP the status of the detector is On.  Activate the valve of the roller and check that the HP detector changes to OFF.
  3. Load Grippers / Open the following:
(First make sure that the drum is in the right position and the Enable detector is in the ON stage )
    1. "Load gripper enable position", rotate the drum in order to change the enable to ON
    2. "Load gripper HP"
    3. "Load gripper EP"
    4. "Load gripper Valve activation"

The HP should be On status, and the EP should be off.  When activating the gripper valve the EP should change to ON and the HP should change to OFF

  4. Unload Grippers / Open the following:
(First make sure that the drum is in the right position and the Enable detector is in the ON stage )
    1. "Load gripper enable position", rotate the drum in order to change the enable to ON
    2. "Unload gripper HP"
    3. " Unload gripper EP"
    4. "Unload gripper Valve activation"

The HP should be On status, and the EP should be off.  When activating the gripper valve the EP should change to ON and the HP should change to OFF
