Problems Caused by Inaccurate Short Pins

Gabi Ra'anan

Hi everybody
If you encounter problems with the distance of the punching hole from plate edge, please note it may be caused by a bad assembly of the short pins that stop the plate in punching position (see photo below). It's been found that some of them were assembled badly and are not perfectly perpendicular with the holding bracket, therefore the plate is not stopped at the exact position in the punches. In order to verify this you have to take the short pin assembly off the punch beam and check perpendicularity of the pin with its black holding bracket - please refer to the photo below. For replacement please order P/N 507A3E308 (or 507A2D057A for Half Web/GTO).
Assembling procedure is corrected to prevent this problem in future assemblies.

Excess Aluminum under the pin tells it was not inserted perpendicular to the bore
