Lately we had reports of malfunction of the cassette sensor and the reason for it was tearing off of the sensor wires; Replacement of sensor did not last long and the wire would cut off again after a while.
It was found out that the reason is the proximity of the sensor wires to the
opening in the machine cover (see picture);
The cover bends inwards whenever the cassette is engaged to the machine and
pushes the wires, eventually shearing them off.
The solution is to widen the opening (using a file) on top and bottom sides so the cover does not touch the wires.
An ECO is already implemented in the production line and new covers have a wider opening now.
