Product

  • Lotem® 800
  • Lotem 800 II
  • Lotem 800 Quantum
  • Lotem Quantum Spectrum
  • Lotem 400 Family

Operating system

Windows® OS

Component

Partitioned hard drives.

Cause

When Lotem software and Windows OS need to be loaded onto a hard drive, the hard drive is not always new. In many circumstances the previously used hard drive, will already be partitioned.

A partitioned hard drive must be reformatted before Lotem software and Windows OS can be loaded onto it.

Solution

  1. Download the Fdisk.exe utility onto a Startup diskette.
  2. Insert the diskette into the diskette drive and reboot the PC. The MS-DOS® prompt appears.
  3. Run the Fdisk.exe. utility. This will delete the existing partition(s) and fomat the hard drive.
  4. Remove the diskette from the diskette drive.
  5. Continue loading the Lotem software and Windows OS.
