Component

Carriage amplifier board.

Problem

  • Connectors J1 and J3 do not meet electric current requirements.
  • Intermittent error  Carriage Amplifier did not detect occurs due to noise on the carriage amplifier board.

Solution

Improve the power supply to the carriage amplifier board by replacing both the J1 and J3 connectors:

The board, which receives 48V directly from the TMC, generates +/- 12V and 5V. Since the new board includes new J1 and J3 connectors, you need to replace the following two cables:

  • The cable between the carriage amplifier board and the carriage motor.
  • The power supply cable between the TMC and the carriage amplifier board.

Note: This FCO has already been implemented in platesetters leaving the production line after 4/3/2003, with serial number 131029.
