Lotem Quantum Spectrum - 3.50.07 Software Installation Procedure

Description

This procedure decribe the steps required in order to install the Lotem controller software 3.50.07

Prior to the software loading:

1. Save the Registry file on a floppy diskette.
2. Save the Data Base folder on a floppy diskette.
3. Write down the IP address of the PC controller.
4. Loading Windows 95 Operating System 2.00 - 501VR083 (only if required).

Saving the registry file:

1. On the PC, select Start and then Run from the pop-up menu.
2. Type regedit in the text box and select OK.
3. Select HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINE, SOFTWARE, Scitex, Projects, LOTEM800V. Make sure that Lotem800V is highlighted.
4. Select Registry from the main menu.
5. Select Export Registry File.
6. Select the floppy diskette (A:) from the Save in: pop-up menu. Type in logical file name xxx.reg and save the registry.
7. Select exit.
8. Leave the disket in the floppy drive & proceed to save the database.

Save the database folder:

1. Select Start and then Programs from the pop-up menu.
2. Select Windows Explorer.
3. Select Drive (C:), the folder Lotem, DataBase (DataBase is highlighted).
4. From the Edit menu select Copy.
5. Select the floppy diskette (A:); from the Edit menu select Paste to copy the DataBase folder to the floppy diskette (or use the Drag & Drop option).
6. Select File and Close.
7. Remove the diskette from the floppy drive.

Write down the IP address of the PC controller:

1. Select Start and then Settings and Control Panel.
2. From the Control Panel, select Network.
3. Select TCP/IP.
4. Write down the IP Address.
5. Select OK (twice) and exit the Control Panel.

Installation Procedure

1. Insert the application software 3.50.07 CD into the CD drive. A warning dialog box is displayed. Select next.
   
   
   
   
2. If the Export Reg file failed, a window is displayed asking you to save the reg before the installation. If you already saved the reg, click yes to continue.
3. If you didn't save the reg before installation, click no and save the reg.
4. Click next in the welcome screen.
   
   
   
   
5. Click yes to confirm license agreement.
   
   
   
   
6. Enter the following and select next.
   Name: customer name
   Company: Creo.
   Serial number: machine serial number.
   
   
   
   
7. Verify that the denstination folder is c:\Lotem and select next.
   
   
   
   
8. Select Typical in the setup type option and click next.
   
   
   
   
   
9. Select the following in the general machine configuration window:
   Optic System: Thermal Head.
   Proofing Capability: Yes.
   Loading System: Single or Dual.
   
   

   Then click next.
   
   

10. Select the following in the configuration options select window:
    Screen Processoe: TSP.
    Distribution Revision: depending on your machine configuration.
    
    
    
    
11. Select not installed in the kit for 0.15 media thickness.
    
    
    
    
12. The start copying files messages window appears. Select next.
    It will take around 5 minutes.
    
    
    
    
13. Select finish when setup complete window appears; the Lotem icon will appear on your desktop.
    
    
    
    
14. Remove the application software 3.50.07 from the CD drive & close the machine doors.
15. Launch the Lotem Quantum Spectrum application by double clicking on it icon. Note that the application start up will take around 7 minutes.
