DO NOT STAY IN THE SAME SPOT ON THE PLATE FOR LONGER THAN A FEW MINUTES!
MOVE THE HEAD/DRUM AN INCH OR SO EVERY FEW MINUTES WHILE INSTALLING THE HEAD!
The reason is that the plate gets exposed by the focus laser and your surface
reflectivity changes, thus throwing all your readings out off range.
When installing the head with a new plate (other that the plates already defined
in the head) your sr may be also way out (until you find the proper one) and
this will only makes matters worse.
If running into any difficulties installing a TH2 with a new plate you may need
to play with the sr and moving the spot on the plate, until you get close to
the proper range.
