Background

Previously, the Lotem^® Quantum and the Trendsetter^® contained either a TMCE ver. C board or a TMCE ver. D board. Each type of TMCE board had its own unique service part number.

In order to eliminate ordering confusion, a decision was made to introduce a single TMCE board service kit, with one part number, which would be compatible for both Trendsetters and Lotem Quantums.
To achieve this aim, a kit has been created to transform TMCE ver. C boards into TMCE ver. D boards and vice-versa.

Transforming TMCE ver. C boards into TMCE ver. D boards

When a TMCE ver. C board is sent to CIL for repairs, the board will be transformed into a TMCE ver. D board by adding an adapter (p/n 220-00518A) to the J36 connector.

Enabling ver. D boards to work in platesetters that formerly contained ver. C boards

1. Remove the plastic cups from the end of the adapter (p/n 220-00137B):
   
   
   
   
2. On the ver. D board, install the adapter into the J46 connector.

Shipping boards from CIL

• CIL will cease shipping original TMCE ver. C boards.
• TMCE boards will be shipped with a special TH2 Exp. bus termination (p/n 504L3E88) attached to the J8 connector.
