Drum Vacuum Analog Detector

The carrier did not attach to the drum, or is only partially attached to the tail gripper

Error Message
The drum vacuum pressure is not inside the allowed range (read: xxx, min: yyy max: zzz) - possibly carrier not loaded correctly

Causes
a) The Carrier is not loaded correctly.
b) The Drum Vacuum Pressure is not within the correct range.

Solution

a. The Carrier is not loaded correctly.

1.Make sure that the Spiral Notch on the Carrier is positioned on the Spiral Pin on the drum.
2.Make sure that the Carrier is well wrapped around the drum surface and is completely attached to the Tail Gripper.

b. The Drum Vacuum Pressure is not within the correct range.

1.After loading the Carrier, check the Drum Vacuum Analog Detector (Hardware>Drum System>Drum Detectors) to confirm that the Drum Vacuum Pressure value is in the range of ~-250 to -470.
2. If the Drum Vacuum Pressure value is not within the allowed range, change the values so that they are within the allowed range.
3. If the Drum Vacuum Pressure value is within the allowed range:

-Increase the current maximum value by 40.
-Decrease the current minimum value by 40.

4. Define the results in the registry under Load Blanket>Min\Max Drum Vacuum Pressure For Blanket.
For example, if the value was -420, the maximum drum vacuum pressure will be -460 and minimum drum vacuum pressure will be -380.

Note: It takes a few seconds for the vacuum to re-build, so wait about 30 seconds before reading the Drum Vacuum Analog detector value.

When to check

What to check

Duration of check

Loading

Carrier

1.When Carrier is completely wrapped on drum

2.When Receiver is attached to Proof Loading Bar

Value is within the drum vacuum pressure range defined in the registry for Carrier on drum.

1.Maximum 30 seconds, polling every (1) second

2.One second

Receiver

When Donor is attached to Proof Loading Bar

Value is equal to or greater than the minimum Drum Vacuum Pressure defined in the registry for Receiver on drum.

One second

Donor

When Donor is completely wrapped on drum

Value is equal to or greater than the minimum Drum Vacuum Pressure defined in the registry for Donor on drum.

Maximum 30 seconds, polling every (1) second

Unloading

Receiver

1.Before detaching receiver with the Proof Unload Arm from the drum

2.After shutting off drum vacuum

Value is below the maximum Drum Vacuum Pressure defined in the registry for receiver unload

Maximum 30 seconds, polling every (1) second
