Symptoms

PLL error messages.

Cause

PLL error messages are related to image quality issues arising from bad fastscan positioning. However, in the vast majority of cases, PLL error messages erroneously occur on platesetters with no history of PLL related problems.

Solution

Engineers should not replace components when they receive a PLL error message - unless the platesetter is experiencing image quality issues relating to bad fastscan positioning.
