Accessing Thermal 2 head parameters in MCE

Product

  • Lotem™ 800 Quantum
  • Lotem 400 Quantum
  • Lotem Quantum 850
  • Lotem Quantum Spectrum

Component

MCE

Symptoms

When working with MCE version 1.26 or higher, the command syntax to head must be entered differently.

Cause

The syntax for accessing Thermal 2 head parameters on MCE-based machines has been changed.

The syntax of these parameters has been significantly changed and is accessible only through redirection, and not through "set head," "set hdp," or "set hdm." This syntax enables the head parameters to be changed without having to release a new version of firmware for each host. It also allows a single host to connect to different heads without having to know the parameter details of each head.

Solution

The Thermal 2 head NVS parameters are no longer mapped to MCE NVS and should only be accessed through the Thermal 2 head redirection.

The table below includes examples of both the former syntax and the revised syntax for accessing the Thermal 2 head parameters.

Note the changes in the syntax:

  • The media numbering starts at 0 in the head.
  • The names of some of the parameters have been modified.
  • The head messages and errors are not the same as the MCE.

Note: The revised syntax can be used with all existing firmware.

Former Syntax -> Revised Syntax
set hdm 1 name "aa" -> th2 "set med 0 name aa"
set hdm 1 colour "bb" -> th2 "set med 0 name bb"
set hdm 1 wpower 10 -> th2 "set med 0 laserpower 10"
set hdm 1 bmcurve 10 -> th2 "set med 0 beamcurve 10"
set hdm 1 bmslope 10 -> th2 "set med 0 beamslope 10"
set hdm 1 sr 0.5 -> th2 "set med 0 sr 0.5"
set hdm 1 sd 10 -> th2 "set med 0 sd 10"
set head foffset 10 -> th2 "set foc offset 10"
set head wenable 1 -> th2 "set sys laserenable true"
set hdp sssa 10 -> th2 "set hlc sssa 10"
set hdp lrt 5 -> th2 "set hlc lrt 5"
set hdp brt 40 -> th2 "set hlc brt 40"
