Product

  • ThermoFlex® Mid
  • ThermoFlex Narrow
  • Lotem® 400 (fiberhead)
  • Lotem 400 Xpose
  • Lotem 800

Background

When properly adjusted, the three power supplies located in the L-box help ensure the smooth functioning of the following boards:

Power supply
+12 V
-5 V
+5 V
Boards
TEC
LDD
  • DDB
  • LDD
  • TEC

When you replace a power supply, you must make sure that it is correctly adjusted. This procedure describes how to adjust the three power supplies.

Requirements

  Digital volt meter (DVM)

Procedure

  1. To check the power supply, attach the DVM to the relevant checkpoints, and check the reading.
  2. Power supply Correct reading Checkpoint location Illustration
    +12 V 12.5 On the +12-V power supply
-5 V -5 Inside the front L-box door, on the right side**
+5 V +5.2 Inside the back L-box door, on the DDB board, on the VCC 1 and GND 1 checkpoints

**Important: For safety reasons, the -5-V power supply does not work when any door is open. To check the -5-V power supply, attach the probes at the location shown above, route the probe wires outside of the L-box, and close all doors. Then connect the ends of the probe wires to the DVM.

  3. If the reading is not correct, use a cross-head screwdriver to adjust the potentiometer on the relevant power supply.

Note: To adjust the potentiometer on the -5-V power supply, you must use trial and error, since you must close the doors in order to check the adjustment.
