Single-line data shifts appear on Magnus 400 and Magnus 400 Quantum

Product

  • Kodak® Magnus™ 400
  • Kodak Magnus 400 Quantum

Symptoms

A swath of data shifts between 200-300 microns around the drum, each time in a different location.

Cause

Solution

  1. Verify that the pins on the cable connector between the MCE board (connector J47) and the LIF PC LIF-2 25-pin plug (on both sides of this cable) are not bent or damaged.

  2. Verify that the grounding wire (part number 409M22000) on the underside of the MCE board is connected to the J47 LIF_CTRL connector case and board shield on the printed side of the LIF board.

  3. Replace the PC internal cable (part number 220-00463A).
  4. Replace the cable between the MCE board and the LIF board (part number 220-02277A).
Note: Because the cable is connected to the main harness, replacing it is subject to product support specialist approval.
