Horizontal lines appear on Magnus 400

Product

Kodak® Magnus™ 400

Symptoms

Horizontal lines appear on Magnus 400 platesetters with laser diode array (LDA) heads.

Cause

Data corruption occurs if you select Rotate to Left or Rotate by 180 deg in the Kodak Xpo™ software when using the Kodak Magnus 400 Controller 1.02.392 or 1.03.393 software on a Magnus 400 platesetter with an LDA head and LIF data flow card (no TSP inside the computer; the data path is via the LIF card).

This is a known problem, which will be resolved in the future.

Solution

Workaround: Do one of the following actions:

  • Rotate the image using the Kodak Prinergy® Evo™ software.
  • To rotate the image using the Xpo software, select either Rotate to the Right only or No Rotate.
Note: To rotate an image to the left using the Xpo software, you must first install a TSP board and cables inside the computer, and then change the data path configuration from LIF to TSP.

A software solution will be available in the future.
