Product

  • Kodak® Magnus™ 400
  • Kodak Magnus 400E
  • Kodak Magnus 200

Error

Operation not successful. Expose task failed. The task Perform Plate Edge Detection Task failed. Expose started with no good lasers.

Symptoms

An error message appears at the start of the exposure process.

Cause

The value of the Default First Laser Number parameter was changed from 0 to -1, and the value of the Default Last Laser Number parameter was changed from 31 to 0 (S type), or from 41 to 0 (F type).

Solution

  1. In the Magnus 400 Controller software, select Utilities > Hardware > Expose System > Laser System and double-click Laser Group.

  2. In the Last Expose Info area, verify that the correct default first and last laser number information appears:
    • For S type configurations: 0 and 31
    • For F type configurations: 0 and 41
  3. If the first and last laser number information displayed is -1 and 0, click Reset Diodes to reactivate all diodes in the registry, and verify that the correct default first and last laser number information appears.
