Symptoms

Head banding appears on Kodak Thermal Gold plates in FM25 screens with Staccato screening software. This occurs at a setting of 1200 rpm, 210 mW.

Cause

Solution

• Fuji plates: set the focus motor to the sharpest point achieved in the focus calibration test.
• Kodak Thermal Gold: set the focus motor to 10 microns more than the sharpest point achieved in the focus calibration test.
