UDRC hose collides with rotating drum on Magnus 400 Quantum

Product

Kodak® Magnus™ 400 Quantum

Component

UDRC hose

Cause

During platesetter operation, when the carriage moves either right or left toward the end position, the free-standing part of the UDRC hose is pushed up and against the rotating drum, and bends the edge of the spoiler that is above the head gripper.

Solution

  1. Carefully and gently, straighten the bent edge of the spoiler.
Warning: The spoiler is very thin and might easily break while straightening it.
  2. Move the UDRC hose away from the drum and secure it to the mainframe with cable ties.
