Resolving “The plate size as was measured by the latch detector does not match the defined plate size” error message on a Magnus 800 platesetter

Product

Kodak® Magnus™ 800 platesetter

Error

The plate size as was measured by the latch detector does not match the defined plate size

Symptoms

  • The alignment system intermittently fails when loading plates measuring either 790 mm x 1030 mm or 800 mm x 1080 mm, and the The plate size as was measured by the latch detector does not match the defined plate size error message is generated.
  • In the Magnus 800 Controller software, the fixed plate sensor is triggered as the fixed pin travels to home position.
  • The fixed pin stops before it reaches the edge of the plate.

Cause

A reflective screw head located on the rear of the loading table (close to the shutter cylinder sensor), triggers the alignment system latch detector and generates an error message.

Solution

Eliminate the screw head’s reflective surface by painting over it with a black marker pen.
