Controlled Releases Information

To order service dongles and licenses, see the Feature Licensing page.

To download main and boot firmware, run the FirmwareUpgrade.spt script from within Service Shell and select Upgrade Firmware. For details, refer to "Upgrade Procedure (MCE)" in Firmware Upgrades: Backing up and restoring MCE, MPE, PDB, LIONEL, and GENINE boards. This document includes instructions for upgrading the firmware on MPE, MCE, PDB, LIONEL, and GENINE boards.

Note: Version Checker versus BBR:
In some newer controlled releases, Version Checker may indicate that the board’s BBR version is incorrect. This warning can be ignored because the BBR is not field replaceable and will have no impact on device functionality. BBR firmware can only be installed on a board during board manufacturing and is only used by the device when attempting to reprogram the boot code (i.e. when downloading recovery code). All existing BBR versions are sufficient for this purpose.

For a table showing the controlled releases for all output devices, see the Control/Settings page on the All CTP site.
