Device workstation

Error

PSRM: Timeout connecting to workflow.

Cause/Solution

  • Cause: Sometimes Prinergy workflow does not pick up the correct GDAPI DLL after a Print Console installation.
    Solution: Check the path variables.
    1. Select Start > Run.
    2. Type cmd and click OK. This opens a command window.
    3. Type path. This displays the path variable.
    4. Check for the Print Console 4 bin path at the beginning of the path list: C:\Creo\PrintConsole4\bin. If it is there, Prinergy will use the correct path and you do not need to continue with this procedure. If it is not there, continue to the next step.
    5. Right-click the My Computer desktop icon.
    6. Select Properties. A system properties dialog appears.
    7. Select the Advanced tab and click Environmental Variables.
    8. In the System Variable window, scroll to find the Path variable.
    9. Select the Path variable and click Edit. The path variable appears in a dialog.
    10. Place the cursor at the beginning of a variable value text box and type the full path to the Print Console 4 bin folder: drive:\Creo\PrintConsole4\bin\.
    11. Click OK to dismiss all dialog boxes.
    12. Repeat steps 1 to 4 to confirm that the procedure was successful.

  •
  • Cause: DCAPI sometimes sends an image status event that contains wrong information, such as the wrong image ID. This can prevent Print Console 4 from receiving the status that the firmware is ready to receive raster data and not communicate to the workflow that it needs to send data to PSRM. This leads to the PSRM timeout. This error can occur under extreme conditions when the workstation’s resources are overloaded.
    Solution: Reboot the workstation.
