TMCE/GMCE intermittently resetting or balance weight position errors

Product

  All Magnus VLFs

Error

Suspended: 40639 [MDHENG:Could not find balancer arms, make sure that the tabs are blocking the sensors].

Symptoms

Intermittent balance weight position error and TMCE/GMCE intermittently resetting.

Cause

The balance weight sensor cables are tied to the TEC/LEC & roller air tubes that move with the backbone assembly. Over time, the movement of the backbone wiggles the balance weight sensor cables back and forth until they develop breaks in the cable. These cable breaks may also be sending spikes to the TMCE/GMCE causing it to reset.

Solution

Replace the damaged cables and reroute them so that there is no movement of the cables and so that they do not interfere with other components.
Do not secure the sensor cables to the tubes.

Secure the sensor cables to the cable ties for the yellow flyoff sensor cables.
