Controlled release version 0.2 (pre-release of 1.0)
CR 1.0 for Magnus VLF is planned to release in August 2004. This page provides preliminary release information.
Unless stated otherwise, this information also pertains to CR 1.0
NOTE: You must install the version of Service Shell in this
controlled release before downloading firmware in this controlled release. See Installation
instructions for details.
SAP part number for Bill of Materials (including controlled release CD and
Print Console Operator Manual): tbd (contact Michael Joy if you require a CD)
Does not support featureless edge detect or strap groove edge detect. Contact the
VLF core team for more information.
Does not support plate large rotation angles with Stacatto imaging (>2500 microradians). Contact the VLF
core team for more information.
Does not support head stage.
CL devices require a manual step during Print Console installation, in order to display the correct
animation images. This is described in the readme.txt file in the top-level directory on the CD.
Workflow items are not part of the release, but have been tested for compatibility.
Prinergy Evo is not yet supported (testing is underway).
Tested with Prinergy 2.2 and 2.3.
Note: With Prinergy 2.3 and dual-plate machines, the Prinergy
registry flag GDEN_QueueGdapiJobsAsSurfaces should be set to 1 (otherwise Prinergy will send each separation as a separate
job, which will result in the machine to image only a single plate at a time).
Brisque support is as follows:
Brisque 4.1.76 is supported, but must be accompanied with:
Brisque Output Update 5 (see http://techplanet.creo.com/software_solutions/workflow_software/brisque/content/docs/ReadMe_4_1_76_Output_5.pdf for more details)
LUT_Update.tar patch (available on Controlled Release CD)
A manual bypass patch (ManBypas.tar) is also needed for MCU’s (available as a patch from the Brisque ftp site: ftp://cilftp.creo.com/pws/brisque/download/v41/patches/TSCL on Controlled Release CD)
Brisque 5.0 is supported, but must be accompanied with:
MagnusLutUpdate.tar patch. (available on Controlled Release CD).
Tested with Brisque Agent 1.00.054.
Magnus VLF S-Speed requires a single TSP75 card. Magnus VLF F- or V-speed
requires dual TSP75 cards.
Brisque can not yet drive V-speed devices at full speed without incurring
retraces. A Screen2Go configuration is recommended for this case.
Installation time depends on which components need to be
installed. In most cases, the components should be used as shipped from the
factory. The description below applies in the case where the workstation was not shipped from
the factory, and therefore must be installed/upgraded in the field.
Review the Dependencies before beginning. Also
for more information, see the release notes for each component.
Note: Until CR 1.0 is released, it is not recommended to upgrade MCE
firmware unless requested or approved by the Magnus VLF development team.
