Symptoms

Print Console locked up and lost communication with the device. This happened during unloading or ejecting the plates. The ejector stalled when ejecting the plate. The problem has not been reproduced when load/unload commands were executed from Service Shell. Also, the problem has not been reproduced when loop test with ejector and carriage movements were executed. The ejector stalled only when a job has been submitted from the workstation. Requires reboot a workstation to recover.

Cause

The ejector stalling problem is caused by the GENINE 1 board resetting. It was observed when typing >>sio nodes before and after a stall when a GENINE 1 reset status has been identified.
GENINE 1 board and ejector stepper drive board replacement did not resolve the issue.
The load table home sensor cable that interfered with load table traveler bracket caused the GENINE board to reset. When the load table was traveling home, a metal bracket on its axis would press on the sensor cables for the load table home sensor. This ended up wearing through the insulation of one of the cables and was shorting out.
 

Solution

Replace the sensor and secure the wires to eliminate the interference with the traveler.
