Symptoms

The ejector stops above the plate instead of before it and ends up scratching the emulsion.
The ejector stalls or runs roughly.

Cause

The parameter mhauto ejectorgain is set to 5 which is its highest drive value—the default is 4.

Solution

Change the mhauto ejectorgain parameter to 4.
