The Magnus XLF 80 is a semi-automatic device based on the 5183 Magnus VLF Semi-Automatic. It has been lengthened to enable the imaging of plates up to 2260.8 mm (89 in.) in length—essentially a 5189 device. The Magnus XLF 80 has the same architecture as the Magnus VLF SA, but only has one configuration, one drum size, and one speed—V speed (TH2 head only).
The Magnus XLF 80 operates in single leading edge registration mode only. The registration pins are a custom four-pin design that supports three plate ranges—small, medium, and large. The pin spacings are 700 mm, 950 mm, and 1200 mm.
The load table surface spans the full length of the device allowing the plate to be moved from side to side. Using the XLF 80’s processor interface bridge, the plates can be ejected to either a processor or an oven.
Magnus XLF 80 is currently in Early Production.
