Drum bearings rarely fail but if the drum pin seals fail, the grease in the bearings could be lost. |
Solutions |
Replace
drum pin seals and bearingsConsult Product Development before proceeding. Field replacement of drum seals and bearings on a VLF size machine is a difficult task. The majority of the exterior panels, including the table, must be removed. Drum removal is necessary. Do not remove the bearings using any type of mechanical puller as this will gall the bearing bore. Apply heat to the drum and the differential expansion rates will release the bearing. Access to the drum pin seal is now possible. |
