Spindle Cam Locks Rotate too far

Product

ThermoFlex Wide II

Machines affected

All

Error

The spindle cam locks rotate a full revolution before the torque wrench reaches full torque.

Cause

With time, the contact points of the cam locks wear and may result in the camlock rotating a full revolution before the torque wrench reaches full torque.

Solution

  1. Identify the cam lock pin on the drum or arbor that matches the spindle cam lock that is rotating too much.
  2. Remove the screw that prevents the camlock pin from rotating using a ¼” Allen key.
  3. Rotate the cam lock pin one revolution into the drum or arbor and install the anti-rotation screw.
  4. Reinstall the drum or arbor into the spindle and confirm that the full torque can be reached with the torque wrench.
