Park Position Switch Not Working

Product

ThermoFlex Wide II

Machines affected

All

Error

The Carriage is in the park position but the park switch is not working.

Cause

  • The connector on the MCE board (J10) is not seated properly or one of the wires at the connector is broken (this occurred at two beta sites).
  • One or more of the probes on the switch are damaged or malfunctioning.
  • The contact pads on the carriage and the tips of the switch probes are not making a conductive connection.

Solution

  • Reseat J10 on the MCE board. If there is a broken wire at J10 on the MCE board, repair the connection.
  • On the switch, check that all of the probes retract and extend freely. If not, then replace the switch.
  • To ensure there is a good connection, clean the gold contact pads on the carriage and clean the probe tips on the switch.
