Field Change Order #E202

Applies to
  • Trendsetter News

Priority: N/A
Reason: = Design
Release date: = Sep 2001

Machines affected
  • Engine modifications and debris option added to machines with 100 Label #6.
  • Release Trendsetter News B1 to Beta
Component
  • All NEWS engines
  • Debris option
Problem

A market need has been identified for a full 8 page format machine with Trendsetter 2637V imaging speed and plate handling features.

Debris option not configured.

Solution
  • Offer a TS2637V imaging speed on an engine without artificial media size restrictions.
  • The registration block offsets were changed to prevent large plates from skewing.
  • Add debris hooks to all machines
Implications

To allow plates larger than 37” subscan to load without skewing:

  • large plates must load on to the 1st and 4th blocks instead of the 1st and 3rd blocks.
  • accomplished by swapping the 3rd and 4th blocks
  • With this change, when dual plate loading is used the two broadsheet plates toe in.
  • A fourth rotation parameter had to be added (firmware) to deal with plates wider than broadsheets (450mm) but not wide enough to use the 1st and 4th blocks.
Prerequisite FCOs

ECO E278 releases V1.14 firmware to support B1 machine and fourth rotation parameter to deal with plates wider than broadsheets (450mm) but not wide enough to use the 1st and 4th blocks. Released Aug 27, 2001. See release notes for details.
