MCE Trendsetter NEWS
Controlled Release Version 4.1 Update 1 (ECO CA08946, 19 Dec 2005)

IMPORTANT: CR 4.1 must be installed on the NEWS output device before you install this update. Contact your local PSS if you need more information.

This update provides the following improvements to CR 4.1:

  • Reduces the unload table hold current of the traveller motor to prevent the motor from overheating.
  • [On NEWS devices with the Large Dual Broadsheet Plate option enabled] Fixes a bug that occurred when the load command was issued while the firmware was checking for a maximum broadsheet plate or a minimum panorama plate.
  • [On NEWS devices with the Dual-Bay option enabled] Added the following enhancements:
    • The stacker pushes plates back in after each pick from Bay 2 to prevent a potential plates stack separation when vacuum is applied during picking.
    • The SwitchoverBay2 operation has been sped up by removing a redundant delay of 5 seconds.
    • Support added for the DB_StopBlockOUT sensor to ensure that the stop block (also known as the NELA switch stopper) is in the extended position before any request is issued to the preloader.
