Trendsetter MCE - System command reports very low temperature

Product

  • Trendsetter® 400/800 - MCE
  • Trendsetter NEWS - MCE

Component

MCE board

Symptoms

The system command reports various conditions in the Trendsetter including MCE board temperature. The temperature that is being reported may be very low (~3°C). In extreme cases this may cause the device to stop during plotting.

Cause

A component change on the MCE board (AD REF02) by the manufacturer can result in incorrect temperature sensing.

Solution

Ignore the temperature reported by the MCE system command.

If the MCE board temperature reported is out of range and causes an error:

  • Mask the sensor using scan ai_mainboardtemp bon until the firmware is updated or the board is replaced.

MCE Firmware will stop reporting this temperature value in:

  • TS 400/800 II CR 4.0
  • TS News CR 4.0
