Error # 16008 or 16010: Total mainscan shift less than or equal to zero or too large

Product

  Trendsetter 400/800 base

Component

MPE firmware geometric correction (gc) NVS parameters

Error

One of the following errors occurs:

  • 16008 : IMAGE: Total mainscan shift less than or equal to zero
  • 16010 : IMAGE: Total mainscan shift too large

Cause

Cause 1: The set gc mss, set gc mssa, and/or set mode <mode> mssa shift parameters are incorrect.
The workstation is specifying a large mainscan shift (around the drum). When error #16008 occurs, this shift is negative. When error #16010 occurs, this shift is too large and positive.

Cause 2: In Trendsetter Base MPE Controlled Release 1.4 and 2.0, the main MPE firmware contains a bug that may cause edge detect to start with an invalid imaging mode before the imaging mode parameter has been received from the workstation. This results in errors 16008 or 16010.

Solution

Compare the values of the above gc parameters to the factory settings, and adjust if necessary, as described in the firmware error message descriptions: 16008 | 16010

If these parameters are correct and the error message still occurs, apply
