IMPORTANT: This update should only be installed to fix specific UDRC problems with Controlled Release 3.2 (for details, see Major fixes and features, below). All components must be upgraded to CR 3.2 before you install this update. Please contact your local PSS for more information.

Installation instructions and time per task

Install in the order given. Total time - 4 hours (minimum).
Review the Dependencies before beginning. Also for more information, see the release notes for each component.

Task Time
  • In the Service Shell client, start the version checker applet.
  • If the system is pre-configured, version checking begins automatically.
  • Click Config. A dialog box prompts you for the controlled release config file.
  • Browse to the VersionConfig folder on the controlled release CD, select the version config file, and click Evaluate > Yes.
  • If a dialog box indicates that the device is not yet configured with controlled release version information, select Configure System > Next. Browse to the VersionConfig folder on the controlled release CD, select the version config file, and click Finish.

To upgrade firmware; backup parameters; download new MCE firmware; check parameters 1 hour
Change parameters for UDRC and switch UDRC serial cable to MCE J37 (see firmware release notes for more information). 0.5 hour
Check that device and all applications are functional including load/unload of small/medium/large size media 2 hours
