Background

Use this procedure when you need to replace or reposition the plate ledge teeth on the load table of a Trendsetter Autoloader or NEWS device.

Procedure

1. Open the plate bay door to access the plate ledge in which the teeth are installed.

Note: Trendsetter NEWS devices have four plate ledge teeth installed. Trendsetter Autoloader has three plate ledge teeth.
 

2. In Service Shell, enter commands:
   picker up
ramp in
   to move the picker and load ramp away from the plate ledge.

3. Use an M2.5 hex key to unscrew the ledge teeth.

   

4. Unscrew the M3 x 6 screw using care to catch the screw before it drops into the machine. Remove the plate ledge tooth.
5. Repeat steps 3–4 for any remaining teeth that need to be replaced.
6. Attach the new teeth.

   Note: The inner teeth assemblies must be located with the air jet assembly to work properly to separate plates. The outer teeth assemblies may be repositioned toward the outside mounts if necessary to work properly with the customer's preferred media.

Test

Pick several plates with the bay full and then pick several more with the bay almost empty. Check to make sure the plates make contact with the teeth when the picker performs its wrist out motion.
