Plates leaving unload table start off square, but become skewed entering the processor.

Applies to
  • Autopunch Trendsetter AL

Description  Plates leaving unload table start off square, but become skewed entering the processor:
  • Generally most apparent on smaller plate sizes (25 inch)
  • Autopunch roller speed is too fast; rollers won't run slow enough to match processor
  • No specific error message

Causes and solutions

If the auto punch rollers are running too fast, they have a tendency to pull the plate away from the traveler and push it into the process line. The friction created is unlikely to be even and thus the plate will skew. (The roller shaft to motor/ clutch bearing alignment is very sensitive to adding extra friction to the roller rotary motion.)

Re match the roller speed to the process line speed:
Make the traveler slow speed as fast as possible so that it keeps up with the plate exiting and is always pushing the plate. Then the plate will always be in line with the process line. See procedure for Adjusting the unload table plate-eject settings .

Loosen the two screws securing the roller motor mounting block, move the motor and it's mounting block around, while rotating the rollers with your finger. Lock the mounting bracket at the place where the roller is the easiest to rotate.
