Plates skewed on the unload table

Applies to

  • Trendsetter Autoloader

Component

Unload table.

Problem

Plate is skewed coming off the unload table.

The plate catches the side of the pre-bake oven conveyor and jams there.

Causes and Solutions

  • Check that the conveyor is aligned with the table.
  • If the plate is not loaded in the bay correctly, then the rotator rotates the plate off-center. Check that all media is loaded between the media alignment labels on the load table.
  • If the plate is skewed while being pushed by the rotator then the rotator is out of alignment. Adjust as follows:
    1. If both tabs are contacting the plate and the plate is not parallel to the edge of the table, remove the center cover and adjust the rotator.
    2. The rod end of the cylinder is threaded into the rotator arm. To adjust, loosen the jam nut on the cylinder and turn the rod end in the appropriate direction to correct the skew. When finished, tighten the jam nut and replace the center panel.
    3. If the plate is over-rotated and does not square up when pushed, adjust the large jam nut on the cylinder that acts as a stop for the rotator when it is in the rotate position. When adjusted, ensure you Loctite it in place using Loctite 271 red high strength.(this is the only thing that holds the nut in place).
  • If the plate is becoming skewed while the cups are releasing vacuum and moving down, then the unload cup cylinders are not operating simultaneously - one of the cups is moving down earlier than the other causing plate to get skewed.
    1. Check for air leaks in the air tubes.
    2. If the skew is enough to cause jamming in the processor, then replace the recalcitrant cup cylinder.
