IMAGE: PLL was not able to maintain drum motion tracking (error number 16012)

Description

The drum position tracking system has been disrupted. It was tracking the drum motion during an image, but was unable to maintain that tracking for some reason

Solutions

See firmware Error 16012
Can be caused by dirty encoder block optics. Clean the encoder block with a can of compressed air. Use only pure clean canned air to blow off the encoder optics.
Can be caused by a short drop in system air pressure. Monitor the incoming air line. Check the error log for unsolicited firmware messages reporting low air pressure.

Notes

If none of these solutions fixes the problem, the cause could be bad encoder electronics casting machining, excessive encoder disk face runout or a damaged disk (this is less likely).

Adhesive has been found on one encoder disk. It did not clean off with isopropanol and interfered with the indexing.
