"External debris blower system blocked (high vacuum)" error message

Applies to

  • VLF Trendsetter (with debris removal)
  • VLF Platesetter (with debris removal)

Description

If the plot shuts down with an "external debris blower system blocked" error message on a VLF Trendsetter or VLF Platesetter that has a debris removal system installed, it may be caused by a defective pressure sensor board (10-4641A).

After operating normally for some time, a pressure sensor may start producing a higher than normal output voltage. This voltage level can result in high pressure readings that shut down the plot and give the "blower system blocked" error.

Cause

Some pressure sensor boards have been assembled incorrectly.

Solution

Check the orientation of voltage regulator IC U2 on the pressure sensor board (10-4641A) for the debris removal system. The location of the pressure sensor board is shown in Figure 2 (VLF Trendsetter) and Figure 3 (VLF Platesetter).

Replace the sensor board if U2 is not oriented as shown in Figure 1 below.
