Electrical noise

Applies to

  • Platesetter 3244
  • Trendsetter 3244
  • VLF Platesetter
  • VLF Trendsetter

Description

If you suspect that the noise generated by the drive amp is causing problems with other systems or with its own normal operation, try the following test.

Possible Solutions

Use this procedure to create maximum noise in the drive:
  1. Apply maximum acceleration (without causing other errors)using these commands:
    set drum vacc <value>
    set drum pacc <value>
where the values are higher than normal.
  2. Spin the drum fast.
  3. Stop the drum using this command:
    abort or drum stop
  4. If noise is a problem, this should make it worse. To reduce noise, set vacc and pacc to lower than normal values.
