Trendsetter VLF Autoloader Components and Theory of Operation

The Trendsetter VLF AL is designed for minimal planned maintenance in its 10 year or 600,000 plate life. Its design is modular so that the customer can add options without major rework to existing parts. It can be installed with either a Left-to-Right or Right-to-Left configuration. Manual bypass is available.

There is no contact with the imageable plate emulsion during the load/unload sequence. A positive handling of plates is used rather than relying on friction.

The Trendsetter VLF AL operates under normal prepress lighting conditions.

A base Trendsetter VLF is converted to an Autoloader by adding the following features:

• extended table
• increased counterweight balance
• extra table bumpers
• new p-door assembly with a y-axis device attached
• new hood
• pneumatic upgrades
• Genine board in the power box (to control the y-axis)
• guard rail with an operator button
• safety loop changes
• extra connectors on the base frame for air/power connections to the SCU/MCU and the conveyor
• new SMC regulator assembly (50-2367A) - replaces the Festo unit
