Check the Site Preparation

Before unpacking the crates, walk through the site to ensure that all the necessary preparations have been made.

1. Check that the site layout meets all the requirements of the Site Preparation Checklist (Appendix A of the Site Preparations & Requirements document 73-3319A).

• plant air supply
• dedicated phone line for workstation communications
• network connection
• AC power
• floor flatness
• environmental conditions
• location of the Trendsetter VLF AL: is there enough space? are the air/power/telephone lines easily accessible?
• service access clearance around the entire Trendsetter VLF AL system
• location of workstation
• area for plate storage
• location of processor, and clearances
• area for plate stacker or plate puncher, if applicable

2. Verify the system configuration with the customer (SCU or MCU, conveyor type, system orientation, etc).
   

3. Verify the size and type of plates that the customer will be imaging, and the type of processor.
   

4. Check that the shipping crates have not been unpacked.

5. Explain to the company supervisor and the riggers how to properly move the Trendsetter VLF. The customer is responsible for rigging and placement of the system. Make sure that an operator is available, and that the forklift meets the criteria in the Site Preparation Checklist (Appendix A of the Site Preparations & Requirements document 73-3319A):

• for the Single Cassette Unit: 1800 kg (4000 lb) minimum capacity
• for the Multiple Cassette Unit: 2300 kg (5000 lb) minimum capacity
• fork width not exceeding 6" (15cm)
• lateral fork movement capability is recommended

6. Walk the path from the loading dock to the permanent location of the Trendsetter VLF AL, checking that there is adequate clearance along pathways and through doors, with no obstructions.
   
7. Gather the necessary documents, hand tools, special fixtures, and heavy moving equipment required for the installation. The number of tools needed may vary depending on the size of the crew. Most of the hand tools and all of the special fixtures are in the Trendsetter VLF AL Toolkit, #04-0018A, sent to the site from the regional office.

Supplied by Customer

The following heavy moving equipment must be arranged with the customer:

• forklift (1800 kg (4000 lb) for the SCU; 2300 kg (5000 lb) for the MCU) with operator
  -- to move the Trendsetter VLF, the Cassette Unit, individual cassettes, and the conveyor
• dollies -- to move the track
• pallet jack -- to move the garage

Two lifting bars and an adjustable foot wrench will be shipped with the Trendsetter VLF.

The customer must also supply a floor layout diagram (from Site Preparations & Requirements document 73-3319A).

• Two or three 1/2" sockets with handles (for opening crates) or a cordless drill with 1/2" socket
