Error

Xpo server is down

Symptoms

After the platesetter fails, the Xpo software stops responding and the error message appears. You cannot recover from this situation even if you restart Xpo.

Solution

To solve the problem when it occurs:

  1. Exit Xpo.
  2. Select Task Manager > Processes > HFDeamon.exe and click End Task.
  3. Select C:\Xpose\version\config and delete the QDB_backup.txt file.
  4. Select C:\Xpose\version\logs and delete the Messages.log file.
  5. Select C:\Xpose\version\bin and double-click the HFDeamon.exe file.
  6. Start Xpo.

Note: After the files are deleted, the jobs are removed from the Production Manager (but not deleted from the disk), and the messages are removed from the Messages section.

To prevent the problem from occurring, install the update:

  1. On the Xpo workstation, quit all software applications and restart the workstation.
  2. Download Xpo_3.1.42_upd02.zip.
  3. Extract the compressed file using the password kodak.
  4. Double-click the Xpo_3.1.42_upd02.exe file.
  5. Follow the wizard instructions. The workstation will automatically restart when the installation is complete.
  6. Start Xpo.
