Xpo configuration fails because of SCSI problems

Product

  • Xpo 3.00.xx
  • Magnus™ 800
  • Magnus 400Q
  • Lotem® Quantum family

Operating system

Microsoft® Windows® 2000/2003 Server

Symptoms

Xpo configuration fails because of SCSI problems. Can´t configure the device and SCSI Board not installed appear in the Results window.

Cause

This problem is probably caused because the Prinergy workstation lost the SCSI after restart. To confirm that this is the cause, right-click My Computer and select Properties > Hardware > Device Manager. In the Device Manager window, the SCSI printer is not listed.

Solution

To solve the problem:

  1. On the Magnus 800 Controller desktop, open Service Shell, and reset the TMCE.
  2. On the Prinergy workstation, right-click My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager.
  3. In the Device Manager window, select the Prinergy workstation name, and click the Scan for Hardware Changes icon.

After a few seconds, the SCSI printer appears in the Device Manager window.
Note: In Windows 2003, the SCSI printer is not listed although the solution works also for this platform.
  4. Perform configuration. Refer to section 2.8 Configuring Xpo in the Xpo 3.00.79 for Magnus 800/400Q and Lotem Quantum Installation Guide.
  5. Start the Xpo software.
