Error

!!! ATTEMPT TO ENTER ASYNCHRONOUS DATA PHASE IN SCSI PRINT !!!

Symptoms

When jobs are sent from Xpo, Prinergy or Prinergy Evo software to a Magnus 800/400Q or Lotem Quantum platesetter, the plate is loaded on the drum, but the job fails in the Xpo software. The platesetter logs report file is canceled by the Xpo workstation, and an error message appears in the Service Shell.

Cause

The SCSI driver is old. To confirm that this is the cause:
  1. On the Prinergy/Prinergy Evo station, select My Computer and right click Properties.
  2. Select Hardware > Device Manager > SCSI and RAID Controllers.
  3. Select the SCSI card and right click Properties.
  4. Select Driver and check its date. If driver 5.1.6.xx is dated May 2002, you need to install a new driver.

Solution

To install the new driver:

  1. Quit the Xpo software.
  2. Download 6.1.6300.100A14 and save it on the Xpo workstation.
  3. Run the AHA39160_v6.1.6300.100A14.exe file and save the driver.
  4. On the Xpo station, select My Computer and right click Properties.
  5. Select Hardware > Device Manager > SCSI and RAID Controllers.
  6. Select the SCSI card and right click Properties.
  7. Select the Driver tab > Update Driver.
  8. Select search for suitable driver and click Next.
  9. Clear all the check boxes except Specify a location.
  10. Browse to the driver location and click OK. The new driver is installed.
  11. Start the Xpo software.
