TIFF Assembler Plus is an assembly software that provides efficient tools for
the arrangement of 1-bit TIFF files on a layout for plate making and film imaging.
It lets you design a layout, position multiple separations (TIFF files) on the
layout, and arrange them automatically or manually. Working with TIFF Assembler
Plus saves time, increases productivity and minimizes plate/media waste.
TIFF Assembler Plus software is supplied with the Kodak ThermoFlex® TIFF
FE software and as a standalone software. When you install ThermoFlex TIFF FE
software, the HASP driver of the TIFF Assembler Plus software is installed automatically.
To operate TIFF Assembler Plus, you must use the dongle supplied with the ThermoFlex
TIFF FE kit, and the TIFF Assembler Plus software is activated from within the
ThermoFlex TIFF FE software.
Following are the main features and options of this software:
You can drag separations onto a layout of the plate, and either place them
manually or allow the software to arrange them.
The ability to rotate files or restrict file rotation. You may want to force
all separations for a given job to the same orientation relative to the grain
of the plate. TIFF Assembler Plus enables you to do that.
You can mix 1-bit TIFF files with different compression formats on the same
layout. You can include a LEN file in the layout as well. As soon as you open
a LEN file in TIFF Assembler Plus or add it to a layout, the LEN file is automatically
translated into a TIFF file.
Any image on the layout can be manipulated using tools such as rotate,
and crop.
You can preview original TIFF images and their properties. You can view
single TIFF files or a composite image made of several TIFF files that represent
the color separations of this image.
Using TIFF Assembler Plus, you can import any image in a standard file format
(such as 1-bit TIFF G4 compressed, packbits compressed, LZW compressed and
uncompressed formats), for placement on the layout.
You can drag image files from Windows Explorer directly to the layout.
You can also drag image files for preview of a single separation or a composite
image.
New features in TIFF Assembler Plus 2.5:
TIFF Assembler Plus is now available for Apple® Macintosh® computers.
You can now purchase a Site license, which you can use in multiple stations
(Windows and Mac OS operating systems) at your site.
You can now include cutting information with your output. Create a CF2 or
EPS file, which contains die cutting data for the cutting machine.
The Proof Mode option in the Layout Setup dialog box enables you to add
a composite image, made of several TIFF files that represent the color separations
of the image, to the layout.
Support of 8-bit TIFF files: you can now add 8-bit TIFF files to a layout
and output this layout.
The Combine for Content Proof option enables you to create a single 8-bit
TIFF file that combines all of the separations of your job (multiple 1-bit
TIFF files) into your CMYK image which you can proof on any proofer.
The Marquee tool enables you to select an area on the layout. The selected
area can then be copied or cut and then pasted on the layout. Use the rectangular
Marquee tool to select a rectangular area; use the polygonal Marquee tool
to select a non-rectangular area.
New features in TIFF Assembler Plus 2.0:
TIFF Compare is a new utility that compares and displays different
TIFF files and saves the results. The utility can compare two TIFF files,
two groups of TIFF files (displayed as a composite job), or two 8-bit TIFF
files.
New options in Hot Folder:
The TIFF Assembler Plus Hot Folder option is available in the TIFF Assembler
Plus software.
Hot Folder Setup enables you to create a Hot Folder in TIFF Assembler
Plus. Its options include Automatic arrange, which instructs the
hot folder to automatically arrange TIFF files on the layout according
to the arrangement parameters, and Pre-defined layout (for offset
plates in ThermoFlex Hybrid platesetters), which arranges TIFF files in
a specific location on the layout.
