VLF Trendsetter images missing after installing Print Console 1.0.2

checkbox.gif (459 bytes) Tested     uncheckbox.gif (229 bytes) Not Tested

Applies to

  • Installing Print Console 1.0.2 (version 1.0.2.2) for the VLF Trendsetter

Problem

The output device animation images for the VLF Trendsetter are not copied to the workstation during the installation of Print Console 1.0.2.2. (Only the first image is added.)

As a result, the error message “Could not open file D:\PrintConsole\bin\Images\Trendsetter VLF\images.dat” appears after the Print Console software is started.

Workaround

Restart the Print Console installation program and choose the “Select Device” option. You’ll notice that none of the output device check-boxes are selected: select the VLF Trendsetter check-box and click Next > to proceed. (You’ll need to click the Next > button 2 additional times to complete the “Select Device” install option.)

The VLF Trendsetter images are installed to the appropriate folder, and Print Console will operate as you’d expect the next time the software is started.

Note: If you are intending to use Print Console with a VLF Trendsetter in a production environment, be aware that Print Console 1.0.2.2 is not qualified for this device: you should install the Print Console 1.0.3 patch, available from Workflow Production. (For information about installing the 1.0.3 patch, refer to the Print Console Installation page.)

Permanent Fix

This problem will be addressed in a future release of Print Console.
