Right-clicking on a collapsed job in the Pending Queue causes a Dr. Watson error

Applies to

  • Print Console version 1.0.1.1

Problem

After collapsing a job in the Pending Queue area of the main Print Console screen (using the triangle icon), right-clicking on any white space in the queue causes an exception error; the Print Console software crashes, and a Dr. Watson error message is displayed.

If the workstation is rebooted, the job files will be gone from the queue after restarting Print Console. The job files should be retained in the queue if you restart the Print Console software without rebooting the workstation.

Note that this problem occurs regardless of the output device selection.

Workaround

Ensure that if and when you right-click on a collapsed job in the Pending Queue, you right-click directly on top of a job/file and not on any of the white space in the queue.

Permanent Fix

This problem has been fixed in Print Console version 1.0.3.2. To upgrade to Print Console 1.0.3.2:
  1. Install Print Console 1.0.2.2 (refer to Upgrading Print Console to Version 1.0.2 first, and then to Print Console 1.0.2 Installation (73-3305A)).
  2. Install the Print Console 1.0.3 patch (refer to Upgrading Print Console to Version 1.0.3).

Note that the 1.0.3 patch is not a new, complete installation program, as with previous releases of the software: instead it includes just those files that need to be upgraded, plus a simple batch file for installing the updated files. The Print Console patch is available on CD from Workflow Production: request a copy by sending an email to CDRequests@creo.com.
